Important — Please Read
Before You Begin
Review and acknowledge the following before proceeding to the booking portal.

Completing the booking portal does not guarantee an appointment. Our coordinator will review your request and confirm within 1–2 business days.
📋

Common Questions
Appointment FAQs
How does the online booking process work?
+
Select "New Patient" above, review the important notices, check the acknowledgment box, and click "Request an Appointment." The portal will ask for your phone number, send a one-time verification code (OTP), then let you select your provider, location, and preferred time. Our coordinator reviews every new patient request and will confirm within 1–2 business days. Once approved, your chart is created and you receive a secure link to complete your intake forms online.
Is my appointment confirmed once I complete the booking portal?
+
No — completing the portal is a booking request, not a confirmed appointment. Our new patient coordinator reviews each request, verifies your insurance coverage, and confirms your appointment within 1–2 business days. You will receive a notification once your appointment is confirmed.
Do I need a referral to see an endocrinologist?
+
Most patients do not need a referral — PPO, Medicare, and open-access plans allow you to see a specialist directly. However, HMO plans need a valid referral and/or authorization number from your primary care provider (PCP) on file before your visit, or the visit may not be covered. If you're unsure, call your insurance company's member services line to confirm before booking.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
+
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a complete list of current medications and dosages, relevant lab results or imaging from the past 12 months, a referral letter if required by your plan, and any prior endocrinology records. Once your appointment is confirmed, you'll receive a secure intake link to upload these documents in advance — which means less paperwork on the day of your visit.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
+
Yes. Telehealth video visits are available for eligible patients throughout Texas — for most follow-up appointments and select new patient consultations. You can choose telehealth as your preferred visit type when booking through the portal above.
What insurances do you accept?
+
We accept most major plans including Medicare, BCBS Texas (PPO, HMO, Medicare), Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Tricare, Humana Medicare, HealthSmart, Aetna, and 30+ others. We do not accept Marketplace/Exchange plans (BCBS BAV/BFT or UHC TXONEX). View the full insurance list →
What is your cancellation policy?
+
We require at least 48 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a $50 fee. Please call 469-930-4655 as early as possible if you need to cancel so we can offer your slot to another patient.
How do I access my patient portal?
+
Existing patients can log in at www.myportal.md. Through the portal you can request appointments, view visit summaries and lab results, download forms, and send messages to your care team — available 24/7.
How do I request a prescription refill?
+
Prescription refills are routine, not urgent, and are processed during office hours (Mon–Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM). Please request your refill well before you run out — don't wait until the last minute. Requests made after hours, on weekends, or on holidays are filled the next business day; refills are not handled as emergencies. The easiest way is to have your pharmacy send us the refill request, or to ask during a scheduled visit. Please check your supply ahead of time and reorder early so you never run out over a weekend or holiday.
Will my appointment be canceled if my lab results aren't ready yet?
+
No. Pending or incomplete lab results are never a reason to cancel your appointment. Your provider will conduct your visit as scheduled and can review results afterward — arranging any necessary follow-up at that time. Please keep your appointment even if your labs are not yet available. Do not cancel or reschedule solely because labs are pending.
What happens if I cancel within 48 hours or miss my appointment?
+
A $50 fee applies to cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment and to no-shows. We send multiple reminder notifications in advance to help you prepare. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call 469-930-4655 as early as possible — we require at least 48 hours notice to waive the fee. Exceptions may be considered on an individual basis.
What if I'm sick or out of town and can't make it in?
+
Call us as soon as you know you cannot come in. In most cases we can convert your visit to a telehealth appointment so your provider can still see you from home or wherever you are — and you won't incur a cancellation fee. Telehealth is available for eligible patients throughout Texas. Please don't wait until the last minute; the sooner you call, the more options we have.
